| I guess I’ll contribute to the site and give my two cents on the two clutches. When my RPS clutch started to slip I decided to go with a Southbend clutch due to the good results people were having. At sea level, my car has 520 WHP and I like to take it to the drag strip, participate in road course racing, it is driven in Denver’s stop and go traffic and goes on many long road trips. After 4,000 miles with the FE stage 5 690 TQ The Good: 1. Slightly heavier pedal feel than stock. 2. It has never slipped, and can take the abuse. 3. Very responsive 4. I heard the life expectancy for this clutch is good. The BAD: 1. The clutch is engaged or not, acts similar to a puck clutch. In stop and go traffic it gets a little irritating. 2. If the feramic friction plate gets too hot, it may weld itself to the flywheel. 3. In my car: IT CHATTERED from day one!!!!! So bad it would shake my car at times. (clutch was properly adjusted and broken in.) I found 4-6 other people on this site which experienced the same problem. I had it paired with a RPS flywheel then switched to a stock one, but it never solved the problem. After the 4,000 miles I could not handle it any more so I switched to: OFE Stage 4 600TQ After 2000 Miles: The Good: 1. AWSOME!!!! 2. NO CHATTERING 3. Light pedal feel 4. Smooth clutch engagement 5. No signs of clutch slipping 6. Highly Recommended! In conclusion, I feel the OFE Stage 4 is a well rounded clutch and worth every penny. To be fair, the FE clutch may have a defect which caused the terrible chattering. PS. Even though I made the mistake of not buying the clutch from Joe in the first place, he was very helpful in answering any question that I had.
